The cafeteria is located on the first floor, green zone.

Weekday hours: 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Weekend and holiday hours: 6:30 to 10 a.m., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 3 to 6:30 p.m.

Magee is proud to offer “At Your Request” room service dining for all of our patients. From 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., this innovative dining program allows patients and guests to select meals from a wide variety of healthy selections, including a fine dining menu featuring gourmet items.

If you wish, you may invite your family and visitors to enjoy a meal with you in your room. Guest trays may be ordered through room service, and staff members will bring the trays directly to our patient’s room.

Only cash is accepted as a form of payment for guest trays.

The Garden View Cafe, also located on the first floor, overlooks Magee's courtyard.

The area is furnished with indoor and outdoor seating, so that in pleasant weather visitors can dine in a park-like setting.

Hours are weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Closed weekends and holidays.

Gift Shop

The Garden View Gift Shop is located on the first floor, just off the Main Lobby. Hours are weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and weekends, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you have trouble reading, need an interpreter, or have any other special needs, please call Social Work at 412-641-4255 for assistance.

Lost and Found

The lost and found service is operated through the Safety, Security, and Parking department. Call 412-641-4191 to ask about a lost or found item.


Mail is delivered weekdays to inpatient units. If mail for you arrives after you are discharged, it will be forwarded to your home address. Mail sent to you at the hospital should be addressed as follows:

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is a smoke-free facility. All patient rooms and hallways have smoke detectors. Ask your nurse about the designated visitor smoking areas outside.

Spiritual Care

Pastoral Care Department

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is dedicated to excellence in patient care, including meeting the spiritual needs of our patients.

Spiritual Care Services include:

  • A chapel (found on the second floor in the green zone, room 2145) open 24 hours a day to people of all faiths for private prayer and reflection
  • Regular visits from hospital chaplains, weekdays, to all patients upon request
  • Visits from clergy for emergencies and urgent requests
  • Distribution of Holy Communion by Eucharistic Ministers to Catholic patients and their families
  • Events such as memorial services, baptisms, blessings, and welcome rituals for new babies
  • Monthly healing services
  • Saturday evening mass
  • Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick by a Catholic priest chaplain
  • Help in contacting your pastor, rabbi, imam, or other religious leader

Reasons to Seek Spiritual Support

People often turn to a higher power for comfort and support during hospital treatment. When you are ill, you may want to pray with a chaplain.

The Pastoral Care staff includes a full-time chaplain and 2 part-time chaplains who minister to faiths. The staff includes:

Chaplains can provide emotional and spiritual support while you are in the hospital. They are honored to:

  • Respect your religious traditions and spiritual practices
  • Support your family and friends

Religious Rituals and Resources

At UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, you will have access to:

  • Worship services held in the chapel
    • 30-minute Catholic Mass at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evenings
    • Non-denominational healing service at noon on the first Friday of every month
  • Resources such as Bibles, rosaries, prayer books, and Shabbat candles
  • Care Notes for coping with illness and grief
  • Sacraments and rituals (baptisms, naming ceremonies, Holy Communion, Anointing of the Sick, Sacrament of Reconciliation)
  • Assistance with ethical decision-making
  • Conversations about end-of-life decisions
