Nine awards are presented annually to UPMC Advanced Practice Providers and a Physician Advanced Practice Provider Champion to recognize outstanding achievements.
This award recognizes an outstanding APP whose work and clinical practice demonstrates the highest commitment in supporting the vision, mission, and goals of UPMC. This is awarded to an APP who exhibits exemplary performance as a role model, mentor, interprofessional collaborator, and relationship builder across the spectrum of health care delivery.

The OAPP Clinical Ladder Governing Council reviewed the professional contributions that were submitted as a part of the promotion process to identify an outstanding project among the projects that were completed this year that stood out as in its methodology, technique, and patient care impact. For 2021, 200 projects had been submitted for promotion, of those 16 were considered for the award.
